Clove Bud Essential Oil Profile: Cloves are the dried flower buds of the clove tree which is native to the Molucca Islands of Indonesia. Buds are harvested as soon as they turn pink and the tree rarely flowers. When the buds are completely dried, the buds resemble small wood like nails and hence the word clove comes from the Latin word clacus which means nail. Clove buds have been as both a spice and natural remedy for over 2,000 years. During China’s Han dynasty, many courtiers would chew on the bud to help freshen their breath while speaking to the emperor. In Europe, cloves were valued for their medicinal properties and culinary uses. Today, they are used for the same time valued properties.

  • Recharge and Invigorate Ones Self: Mix 3 drops of Clove Bud Essential Oil with 3 drops of Cinnamon Essential Oil in a diffuser or aromatherapy lamp. Use in a group/social setting to energize all.
  • Relieve Tension Headaches: Add 2 drops of Clove Bud Essential Oil to a bowl of warm water. Soak a clean cloth in the liquid and wrong out the excess. Place cloth on your neck for 5 minutes to ease the headache.
