Frankincense Essential Oil   Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense Essential Oil Profile: Frankincense has a long history as a gift to the gods. One associates frankincense with images of ancient, smoke filled temples, where the fragrance lifts prayers and desires to the gods. The tree itself is un-significant. It is a shrub native to Africa, India and Saudi Arabia. When the bark of the tree is peeled away, the resin oozes and forms “tears” which are then scraped off the tree and distilled to form the oil. The tears themselves can also be burned over a charcoal to produce the same fragrance.
