Lavender Essential Oil Profile
: Lavender plants are native to the Mediterranean, where it grows in open fields on mountainous slopes providing for a beautiful and fragrant landscape. The finest lavender is distilled from lavandula officinalis which grows at altitudes above 3,000 feet and is particularly resistant to heat and cold. The buds are harvested when the oil content is highest at mid-day.

Physical Uses: Lavender essential oil is a powerful antiseptic containing more than 200 compounds which are active against fungi, viruses, and bacteria. Lavender Essential Oil Recipes:
  • Air Purifier: Mix 4 drops Lavender Essential Oil, 2 drops of Bergamot Essential Oil and 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil in a saucepan with 2 cups of pure distilled water. Simmer over the stove where the aroma will fill the house. The fresh scent has a powerful cleansing affect, in addition it will also uplift the mind, body and spirit.
  • Rejuvenating Bath: Mix 3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil and 3 drops of Lime Essential Oil in a warm bath and soak for 30 minutes. The blend will encourage circulation and encourage toxins to be eliminated.
  • Pure Relaxation Bath: Mix 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil with 1 cup of heavy cream or 1 teaspoon of honey to a warm bath. The added cream or honey will enhance the aroma of the lavender and blend the oil with the bath water fully. The total emulsion will make you feel wrapped up in lavender for deep, pure relaxation.
