Rosemary Essential Oil Profile: Rosemary is a favorite among ancient healers, and is the source of many legends. It was burned in front of shrines in Ancient Greece to drive away evil spirits and it is thought that placing a fresh twig of rosemary under your pillow at night will keep nightmares away, or placed under your bed will give you a good night rest. It was also considered a safeguard from witches and evil spirits as well as attract elves. Besides the legends, rosemary was commonly used to treat sicknesses and had many culinary influences. Rosemary Essential Oil is harvested from the needlelike leaves and must be harvested before the plant blossoms.

Physical Uses: Rosemary essential oil is favored for its stimulating and medicinal effects. During WWII , French medics burned a mixture of rosemary and juniper berries in hospitals to prevent infection. In addition to its antiseptic properties, Rosemary has strong stimulating and anti-inflammatory effects. Used to improve circulation, it can be used on the scalp as a tonic to stimulate hair growth, or used to clean toxins from the body.

  • Energy and Mental Clarity: Mix 3 drops Rosemary Essential Oil, 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oil and 1 drop Clary Sage Essential Oil in a diffuser or aromatherapy lamp. Close your eyes and take deep breaths to renew energy levels and improve concentration.
  • Energizing Bath: Add 3 drops Rosemary Essential Oil, 3 drops Lemon Essential Oil and 2 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil to a warm bath when feeling lethargic, or in a morning bath to start the day energized.
  • Relieve Computer Fatigue: Mix 2 drops Rosemary Essential Oil, 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil and 2 drops Basil Essential Oil with 2 oz. of vodka and 2 oz. of pure distilled water in a spritzer bottle. When feeling fatigued close eyes tight and spritz mixture on face to refresh and quickly recharge your batteries.
